Frequently Asked Questions
I am excited to help your family feel their best, individually and together. Family units are where our health habits begin and where they are supported and nurtured. When we model conscious healthy choices, self-reflect honestly and stay aware of our overall wellness, those around us witness and copy our actions and behaviors. Wellness is a lifelong journey and one I strive to model for my family. I have a little one at home too and I am careful to be mindful and consistent with the way I model overall wellness to give my son the foundation for sustainable holistic wellness. I keep learning, I keep growing and I understand that as a parent life is challenging, full, wonderful and exhausting and heartfelt effort is required 24/7 (Don’t we all wish there were more hours in each day?). I make it a practice to seek out guidance and ask for help, to find coaches to inspire, support, listen and keep me accountable. I rely on my partner to be present, honest, open and hard working in our journey together for ourselves individually, for our relationship together, for our son and for our family as a strong cohesive unit. I believe we all do the best we can and with a little guidance and support and a desire to keep learning, growing and thriving we can always do better.
In my coaching practice I act as the “Beekeeper” and I provide direct support to my clients (the “bees”), to provide an open and honest space to reflect on each family member’s holistic health and wellness, to provide information (food for thought) and accountability to keep track of the bigger environmental context (your “hive”—your home and family unit) so that everyone in your family can thrive. Ultimately, the reflection comes from you, the goals are set by you, the commitment to change and willingness to try new things stems from your desire to learn, grow and prosper more than you already are. I will keep you focused and accountable, challenge you to seek and find greater balance and introduce ideas and concepts that will inspire you feel capable of showing up as your best self—for yourself and for your family. If each family member does the work just imagine the way your hive can thrive! Transformational change is so exciting…let’s get to work!
During our time together each family member will reflect on a core wellness topic I present at each session. You will each set personal goals, identify pain points, and take steps to cultivate lasting positive change and I will help keep you accountable and reflective as we go. Ultimately, each family member will make key decisions to improve their over-all well-beeing which will in turn, improve the well-beeing of the family unit (your hive)!
You will discuss and set goals related to the topic covered in every session. Your coach will check in with you at the next session on your progress, any challenges you faced, any successes you experienced and together you will discuss if you need to modify your goal or keep up the good work.
We will address overall wellness goals of your specific family. Often our family’s struggles relate to not enough time to make healthy choices or too much stress and distraction from prioritizing your wellness to properly fuel yourself and your family both on and off the plate. In your sessions with your coach, will share some pain points you are experiencing and your coach will support you to make some new healthy, informed decisions to improve your “hives” overall wellness. Some topics we will cover include: sleep, stress, movement/exercise, grocery shopping, meal planning, time management, and snacks.
Setting achievable goals that are conceived by you and your family is where we start. With new insight and a healthy self reflection of your current state of wellness you will be able to make new choices that will become your new healthy habits. Lasting change is about lifestyle change not a temporary fix or fad. Over our time together, you and your coach will revisit the goals you set at each session and check in on them to ensure your new goals are in fact becoming your new healthy and sustainable habits.
Family is defined by each of us individually. If you are interested in improving your well being and discussing if this is right for you and your family, we encourage you to set up a free introductory call. We want to learn about your unique “hive” so please don’t be shy to contact us and see if we are a good fit.
We meet for about 50 minutes during each session. If a session plans to run longer you will be given ample notice to plan accordingly.
Each week we will check in on the goals set the session prior. And, at the halfway point, we will have a reflection session where we specifically address your progress to date and how far you have come. This gives us an opportunity to revisit any pain points you may be experiencing with a given goal or topic of wellness and tweak the goals, choices and plan moving forward to maximize progress. It also provides us a check in on the positive changes you are experiencing in your family. Remember this is all about process and progress, not about perfection. Your family’s path toward wellness is unique and we will be sure to address it accordingly.
Once you sign up for the program you will receive a welcome packet that will include some initial paperwork to complete with your family so that your coach can learn a bit about you prior to your first session. There is nothing intimidating here…just some easy handouts to complete and send our way so we can make the most of our time together.
Set up a free introductory call, ask your questions, learn more and then commit to the 6 month transformational program to kick start your hive on the path towards achieving greater wellness and connectedness overall.
